An international City Airport |
|
We are an international city airport centrally located which means that we are accessible wherever you are in the region and regardless of whether you travel by car, train or bus. We offer a fast and efficient route to other destinations in Europe via Amsterdam and Copenhagen. Our intention is to provide further services to hubs in Europe to make it easier for you to travel out into the world and home again.
Linköping City Airport aims at being an efficient and accessible airport with personal service and an open atmosphere. Most of our flights are occupied by business travellers and we are aware of the demands and expectations put upon us.

A hub
At Linköping City Airport, aircraft lift off and land only minutes from the city centre. Our location next door to the E4 motorway and a main line rail track makes us a natural communications hub.
Linköping City Airport is situated in the heart of the county of Östergötland but also half way between Gothenburg and Malmö in the south and Stockholm on the east coast. If one takes a step back it is clear that Linköping City Airport is also right in the middle of the Nordic Triangle between the capital cities. This makes us a communication hub from many different perspectives.
Bringing air travel down to earth
It is our intention to bring air travel down to earth. By this we mean to want to integrate air travel with the land-based communication systems which includes trains, buses and cars in an effort to minimise total travel times. Our long-term vision is to offer our travellers the opportunity of checking in at their local travel centre.

Additional airport hubs
Short-term, the Airport can offer travellers access to additional airport hubs within Europe, thus meeting their requirements and contributing towards the development of the region. To realise this we must maintain continual dialogue with a number of potential airlines.
General Aviation Center
Construction work has also begun on a General Aviation Center. This will be a centre for business, private and leisure aviators, collectively called general aviation. Our vision is to create a general aviation terminal which makes it possible for us, in addition to our existing primary terminal, to provide services to visiting business aircraft and private flights. Such a terminal would form a natural centre for the region’s business air travellers, pilots and passengers who choose point-to-point travel.
Aviation Park
The municipality is very much involved in developing the airport region through its subsidiary FlygMex AB which is a company tasked at developing and exploiting the land in the vicinity of the Airport. The aim is to develop an Aviation Park. This business park will provide the optimal environment for knowledge and development intensive companies operational within the aviation industry as well as other companies associated with this business.
